Question 3700 SCR Countertop Material

I own a year 2000, Maxum 3700 SCR. The countertop around the wet bar sink in the cockpit, the galley countertop and the galley dining table top are black in color with white marbling. I know this is not granite, marble, etc., but I am wondering if anybody knows the material these countertops/table are made of? The countertop in the galley and the galley table top are in really good shape, but the countertop surrounding the wet bar sink is badly faded. Has anyone had any experience in bringing back this countertop material to better shape?

Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts and suggestions.

I believe the countertops are corian. Corian can be polished out by a professional. Find a local countertop company that does corian. They should be able to repair it.

I fabricate Corian (solid surface) countertops. This is something you can easily do yourself with a DA sander and a little guidance. 220 sandpaper, maroon scotch brite, grey scotch brite. then finish it by hand with grey scotch brite and water. it's really easy to do.
you will want to make sure it's actually solid surface and not
cultured marble (soft plastic).
I will say that solid surface generally doesn't fade in color unless bleach got on it or excessive heat.
shoot me a PM and I can help you out if you want.

I ventured that they are corian since my 1999 maxum is corian (or equivalent) and all the pictures I've seen of other boats are the same tops. The comment about 'marbling' does sound like it might be different, because Corian tends to have flecks of color, not really seams of marbling.

Thank you for your comments. Yes. The countertop does have flecks in it rather than true marbling. I imagine it is Corian.
