What are some of the trim option differences between these two boats?

Did both generally come with a generator?

Only difference I think I have seen in some so far is an option closet forward of the galley on the port side, which I think I like a lot since I'm pretty OCD about clutter and organization on the boat.

I think our next maxum will likely be which ever pops up for sale first in good condition and in our budget range between these two models.

it seems like there were substantial improvements too the appearance of the helm in 1997 and I think our budget will limit us to around 2002 or older.

No boat comes standard with a generator but it was an option with both.
