Default Wire Connector

Does anyone recognize what this connector might be for. Found it laying in compartment by helm but not connected to anything. All systems work on the boat so I suspect something the previous owner put in, I havent crawled around in the boat to find the other end yet.

Factory depth gauge installed and works, probably something previous owner did, just not sure of the type of connector, maybe something audio but Fusion radio and Garmin radar installed and everything works. Also no extra holes or screw holes on instrument panel or transom of boat. Someday I'll have to follow wire and see where it goes

Looks to me like it’s an old cable for a radio remote. If there’s a newer radio with a remote at the helm, it may be left over from the prior setup.

No radio at the helm and no extra holes on instrument panel or surrounding sidewall. Fusion radio installed in cabin, no remote. Cable does look like it's been there a while, cable was found coiled up behind sidewall compartment by helm.
