Default What is this vent for ?

Is this the vent for the water tank or what? It says WATER on it but I can't see in the ER to determine what it is hooked up too .. Could it be a vent for the Hot Water Heater?

oh man..this easy..it's not a vent....hook up your water hose to your dock side water......hook the other end here....turn on the water....turn off your water pump in the galley....you now have shore water.....

wonder what the compression fitting is above the shore water?

looks like a home made air compressior blow down system.

looks like a shrader valve to me.

It DOES, and what a beautifully elegant solution that would be.

BTW- Philbo, did they install that on the same side as the walk through transom? IF so, that means you have to trip over a hose each time you board? How annoying.

A note on shore water. I would make sure there is a water shutoff. I would also only leave the water on while you are ON the boat. Preferable to shut it off when you leave or go to sleep. A garden hose is more than likely going to fill the bilge faster than the bilge pump can discharge it. If you have a line or fitting reupture and the shore water is on, you could have a dock side sinking. Best To be safe.

The shore water is on the opposite side from the walk through. I doubt I'll ever use it but thanks for the advice.

The compression fitting above it is a fuel line. Original owner was a big time fishing guy and mounted a kicker motor to the swim platform for trolling. I bet that was ugly. I'm taking it to my mechanic next week for the annual service and plan to ask him to disconnect the fuel line to isolate that fitting so I can remove and cover it.
