Default Water leaks led to extensive wood rot

A recent survey of my 2000 Maxum 3000SCR found extensive wood rott. The mid bildge has a rotten bulkhead by the aft cabin. The aft cabin floor has rotten wood but it is dry. In the bildge, the reflective foil like paper on the firewall has signs of mold and it is wet by the hull. Most of the bulkheads in the bilge have to be replaced. The wood flooring which supports the batteries and hot water tank along the port side of the bildge is rotten too. Samples of the stingers under the engines have darker than usual wood. I obvioulsy have had a water leak problem which casused this damage. Origianl estimates came in at between $6-8K mostly on labor and pulling two engines. I called Boat US and was told I have full coverage but they have to take a look at it first.

I do not want to sink any more money into the boat and would like to sell it as is. The interior is very very nice and everything works. Recent canvas replacment with upgraded Raymarine E80 chartplotter.
How/where is the best way to sell this boatI am waiting on estimates

Thanks

well,

You paid for insurance, let them investigate a claim, and see what they decide.

If the damage is not from neglect, then they will pay to fix it minus your deductible.

You can take the check then sell it as-is if you decide.

Fixing the water damage is the easy part and will be as good as new.

With the engines are out, you have a chance to replace the transom pin seals, exhaust manifolds, etc, so you need to decide if you want to get the boat retrofitted for the next 10 years.

I would not sell it to someone without disclosing the problems.

Boat like that is running around $26k to $32K.
