bought a 1994 2400 when you push the trailer switch drive goes to the full up and out position. to lower the drive you use the trim down switch. is this normal ? your help will be appreciated.

The Outdrive should have a Drive Trim OUT (Up) and IN (Down). The Trim Out is going to be limited by the Trim Limit switch. This prevents you from trimming the drive too far out while under way. The Trailer switch, bypasses the Trim Limit switch and allows you to raise the drive all the way Out for trailering. I would not recommend running the engine in gear with the drive raised beyond the trim limit switch with the trailer button. Yes, the Trim Down applies to both. There is no trim limit switch for going down. There is no point in 2 down buttons.
