Default throttle sensor

2003 2900 SCR, single engine. Anyone have trouble with throttle sensor? I have a sensor that is in the throttle that has been beeping, both intermittently, and continually. I have had it checked, all fluids are fine, no overheating. Sensor is going to be replaced, boat seems to be sluggish however. Full throttle down, can barely get up to 4000 RPM and up on plane. Wondering if the sensor is causing the engine to hold back. Boat seemed fine last year.

Copa,

Not sure I have the complete picture. I assume the engine is MPI but I don't know of any engine mounted sensors that emit sound.
