also i want to get a better speed from a lower rev wot , mine sits at wot 4500rm 38mph (60kms) and i wanted it rev lower and still get that 40mph wot
any advice
(its loaded with 5 people full tank of gas (70gal) 15gal water )
the boat is used for fishing and i want to get to my spots with out wasting too much fuel and doing harm to the engine at wot 4500rpm

what do you have now???...look on the side of the hub of the prop...should be a 19 or 21" pitch....your hole shot will suffer with a deep pitched prop...right now your right in the middle of your wot engine rpm....raising the pitch will lower the wot and make the hole shot tougher to get up on plane....

My 1997 5.7 EFI Alpha 1 has a 15" x 17" and I can get 4400 and 38 MPH with one person on the boat. I think your performance is pretty good!

It came from the factory with a 14 1/2 X 17.
