I have been pondering this ............But which seats are you talking about? Are theses the cockpit cushions above the engine compartment? Aft cabin or the cabin seats?
Ulven........ a picture is worth a thousand words.
Some of these seats are glued in or they are screwed in by coming up threw the bottom. I understand the cleaning but you don't have to take them out to clean them. What to you mean by respray them?

Since he said sofa I assumed the main cabin. I have no idea what respray means either.
Yes more detail please.

Hello
Thanks for answering, and sorry for my lack of English skills. (I am a Norwegian Maxum owner)
The seats I am talking about is the ones above the engine bay. I managed to loose the one you sit on, at the rear, but having problem loosen the three parts for your back, and the one you are sitting on with the face looking backwards ( with you back against the driver)
My boat is a 2000 model, I have some minor differences compared to the earlier models.
I have bought a leather and vinyl paint called colorblind, and will try this.
I am very thankful for any tips
Kind regards ulven

ulven your English is just as good as a lot of Americans I know
The seating you are talking about is refered to as the cockpit U shape lounge. With this clarified hopefully someone can give you a better answer.
Why are you using the colorbind? Changing the color? Cannot clean the existing color enough?

I will have to get back to you on that one, cause I really don't know or for that I have never looked to see how they are connected.
I am curious about your spray. I would love to see some before ad after pictures with your cushions. Every vinyl spray I have seen used the results have not been great. I would think its use would be for little spots of fabric not the whole thing. So again, you might look into covering your seats with new fabric if the spray doesn't work.

I think on that model, they are screwed in from the back. If you get into the engine compartment, then go all the way to the Starboard side, you should fin the cavity between the shell of the deck that makes up the inner cockpit and the outter hull. You should be able to reach all the way up in there. I believe the forward portion is in the mid cabin. Feel around the upholstered bulkhead and you should find the nuts.

if i remember correctly, there is a screw that goes from inside the storage under the co-pilot's seat into the backside... and a clip mechanism under the arch (and maybe a screw) we removed all the seats this winter and build new plywood frames since the old ones had rotted. We cleaned the vinyl with a magic eraser and starbrite vinyl cleaner. they now look almost new! We also had the supports for the back of the helm seat bent back to a 90 degree angle.
