Default Quicksilver top mount dual engine throttle/shift control

Hi all, I have a 2001 2900 SCR with twin 4.3l's, Quicksilver dual binnacle with trim adjustment. The port engine throttle control lever is a bit stiff, I am wondering if there is an adjustment for this on this particular model? I have read that the single engine control has a friction adjustment screw, is this also true for the dual engine model.

on a side note: it shifts fine, its only affected when throttling up/down, and I have already disconnected the cable at the carb.

Thanks,
Matt

I believe the dual station unit also has adjustable drag screws. note the issue may be a stiff throttle cable, try disconnecting it at the engine to see if it makes a difference then at the throttle itself.

I did disconnect at the carb and it was still stiff.

Ok so now its between the cable and throttle. Need to disconnect the cable at the throttle to isolate.

well...I did remove the four screws that hold the control in place, and when I pulled the control straight up and out, I didn't see any way to remove the cables. I didn't want to go and break anything without asking for advice first. so, if you or anyone else can give me a few pointers, that would be great.
thanks,
Matt

Is it a quicksilver 3000?

Your best bet is to Google the manual to see how to work with your specific unit

Looks like the 3000

I have a paper copy but not familiar with dual control as I have a single.

Check the cable to make sure it didn't wear thru anywhere.

update...

After removing my skirt and growing a set, I just went and started to dis assemble the control, it was actually very easy to do, I removed the throttle cable in question and the control moves smooth like butter, I will now be ordering a new throttle cable.

thank you to those who had some input for me.
