Default Propeller pitch

Hi everyone, I am a new owner of a 2007 Maxum 2400SE, with a 5.0L MPI, and a Bravo III. My propellers have 3 blades with a 20 pitch, but when I am at 30 mph my rpm is at 4100 to 4200 rpm which I find very high compared to other boats. At full throttle i'm at 5100 rpm at about 39 mph. I'm trying to find out if this is right or should I increase my prop to a 22, even one person told me to add one 4 blade. I would love to find out what anybody else with my configuration use. Or if anybody can direct me to somewhere were I can talk to an expert. I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

Welcome aboard

At a WOT of 5100 you are under proped, try using mercs prop calculator for a recommended prop set up. WOT should be 4400 - 4800.

Thanks Mike, I used Merc prop calculator and it recommends a 22 pitch. I was recommended by someone to install one 3 blade prop and one 4 blade, anybody ever try this ?

Several folks have used the 3/4 blade set up and have been happy.
