Prop advice

On my 2400 SCR, carbed Mercruiser 5.0, 220 hp from 2000 with an Alpha 1 Gen 2 outdrive i am running a 15 x17 ally prop.

WOT is over 5000 rpm so it feels under propped. I'd like to get cruising speed (24 to 26 knots) at around 3500 rpm with two adults, lightly loaded and approx half a tank of gas. Does anyone have any ideas what prop i should get or could any of you share what you use with performance criteria?

Mercruiser has a prop calculator, I would see what it says. However I would think a 15.5 x 19 or 21 would be about right.

Hi,
I've got the 2100SD with same config (assuming your outboard is 1.62 ratio) and had a 23p 3 blade. I don't care about top speed. I bought a new 4 blade which I believe helps to pull tubes and kneeboard with a load of 7-8 people (e.g., think High Torque).
It's affordable for people like me who put into shallow areas and risk further damage (~$165).
