Red face Pick up my 2400SCR Saturday!

I am the proud new owner of a bristol 1996 2400 SCR that I pick up this Saturday. The boat is in magnificent condition and I'd like to learn as much about it as possible. If you have any advice on required fixes, model specific maintenance or really cool upgrades to this model let me know. I'll post pictures very soon!

Ooh La La welcome aboard.

On the home page of this site you can find the owners manual for the 2400SCR. You should also get an aftermarket mercruiser manual for engine and outdrive mantaince. Best upgrade for me was adding a GPS/fishfinder combo unit. There are plently of 2400 owners on this site and I am sure many will chime in with help, advice, and upgrades. One that I haven't done but would really like is an extended swimplatform.

Look forward to the pictures, hope you enjoy the boat as much as I enjoy mine.

Great little boat, just sold ours after 6 years. Small enough to trailer around and tinker with in the driveway, without the expense of a slip, but big enough to spend weekends, even weeks on with the family. Best upgrade was the extended swim platform, the original is just big enough to kill yourself on.
Cheers

Just purchased a '95 2400scr recently. She has a few minor issues that need attention but looks and runs beautifully. So far we are very happy with our decision. Photos to come as we get her out and about.

Bar Hopper, welcome.
What engine/outdrive package do you have? I have a 97' 2400 SCR with a 5.7LX connected to a Bravo 2. I see you have posted several times today. Let us know how you make out on these and any other questions going forward.

Hi Mike,
have the 5.0/alpha drive. just bought the boat from Chapman School of Seamanship. They are a non-profit. She is in great shape. Just needs some minor attention to some systems.. gonna replace the water tanks, new windshield wiper, new fuse block under the helm, and maybe just a quick tune up and service. She runs great and looks New inside an out... I'll have some pictures up soon.
Thanks for the Welcome.

Welcome aboard. A swim platform is a must. The best thing we did.
