Default Oil Extractor for 2004 2400 SE

I have the 2004 2400 SE with 5.0 Merc motor. I have tried 3 different Oil extractors and had no luck. Went down thru the dipstick..2 were the DC with the bucket and 1 manual from WM. Any ideas...I need to get my oil changed soon....is there any blockage at the dipstick with this motor??...
Or has anyone else had a good product that actually worked?

Thanks..Tom in Seattle

Have you first warmed the engine up? This is a must. Is the tube inserted all the way into the dipsick tube? When pumping the handle does a vacumn build up?

I have used one for over a decade with no issues.

One trick is that I measure the dip stick and put the same length plus just little more of the tube in so you know you have not curled the end up.

Another ole school option that I always keep just in case is my Parr Hand Pump.

It has the garden hose attachment that just screws to where your dip stick pulls out. There is a short piece of rubber hose where the oil comes out. I use milk jugs to catch the oil.

You get your excersise and your oil changed at the same time.

I use a Topsider MVP. I have had it for 10+ years now and used in on my previous boats as well as my current boat a 1997 2700SCR.
One modification I made to my Topsider was to add valve to the suction line right before it enters the tank. This way I can close the valve and then pump up the vacuum and then open the valve.
