New (to me) 1998 2300 SC

So last night I bought my hole in the water and purchased a 1998 2300 SC. Figured I drop in here to say hi, since I'll likely be here a lot in the future. If anybody has any tips on this era/model of Maxum, I'd love to hear.

Congrats on the new to you boat EB, looks like it's in pretty nice shape given its age.

My wife and I run a slightly newer (2004), slightly larger (2400 SC3) that has been a great boat for us. Hope you have the same experience with yours.

My last boat was a '97 2300 SC and I loved it .. The only complaint I ever had was with the location of the Battery Switch. Not sure if it was factory or an addition but it was located behind the port side rear cushion and you had to pull the cushion out and reach up under the backing to change the setting.

What power plant does it have? Mine had the 7.4L w/ B3 and performed very well.

This has the 5.7L with the AlphaOne (I believe).

Currently there is only a single battery...but I think I'll be adding a second + switch.

Yea, battery switch locating bites!

Has anyone tried to rewire and move it?

If you move it closer to the batteries not much rewiring to be done. If you move it further away you will need longer cables.

For the cables I found any welding supply house can make them for you if you know how long you need them.
