Default new batt charger

Hey guys i just replaced my batt charger in my 2001 scr 2800 with a charles 20 amp
so when i tested it with shore power {only works with shore power} it was reading 20amp
right of the bat,,,,,,, is that right?
or is it suposed to bounce in the middle somewere on 10 or 15 amps? or it just telling me the batts are charged?

Thanks

its pushing 20 amps for a quick change, then will drop down to trickle charge, then go to float mode, when the batteries are fully charged.

^^^^ Ditto.

The other thing to keep in mind is it can only push as much as it is pulling. For example, with a 20amp charger, you are more than likely on a 30amp circuit. If you were on a 15 amp circuit, I would expect to see it not go any higher than 10 amps, possibly 15. As the batteries charge, it will step down automatically.
