I've seen that stuff on boats before and it's gorgeous....I'd do it but it would take alot of gas money out of my budget.....but it does look great when installed properly....

I know I've said it before Ed, but I really like the look of that stuff on your 2400 SC3.
I have a different question for you though. In your picture above I see something on the bottom left corner of your transom door. Is that some kind of latch to keep the door open?
Mine does not have that and the door swings freely when open. Drives me nuts.

the latch is just a standard rod type latch that slips into a hole ....nothing big on that one....
nice job ed!!!...really classes the ole girl up!!!

Thanks Steve, I just can't quite tell from the photo what it is.
I was thinking of trying to find something more along the lines of a magnet arrangement - something that could be flush mounted. Just need to figure out an elegant way of keeping that door from banging around when it's open.

Took a bit of searching but I was thinking about something like this: http://www.boatoutfitters.com/store/...older-Set.html
Installing the flush mount part on the side of transom walk through means there's nothing to catch any skin on. Then again, if the door is open it wouldn't matter. The hook type could work but the dangling hook making noise while under way would make me crazy.

Go on the web site and ask, but I assume they don't have templates. There is also an other system on the market "permateek" it is also very good.

yo dan....
what i have on the entrance door is indeed standard (used at doors in kitchens etc in the eary days) one part at the door and the other at the wall.....but what you showed in your link is a hundred times better....its magnetic (bayliner usses somthing similar on their cruisers)
at my boat i have wounded my tones several times on the part fixed on the wall.......your link would be something for me to
this is what i have...

yo jeff,
dont try to do it yourself the experts melts the parts with heat and gleu together etc and install it at your deck with a lot of years of guaranty ( in my case 7 years).....thats worth a lot.......
greatz ed

Thanks very much Ed. I think I'll try out the magnet idea. Looks like it will be a nice, clean install.
