Looking to add microwave for 01 Maxum 2400SCR
Hey there,
Was chatting with my wife, and we think we want to add in a microwave this year. Doesn't appear to be "marine" microwaves, so I'm guessing I can just pick up a small one at Wally world. I have a shelf area above my sink it will be going on. No issue with height or width, I'll just need to check depth, but I am think a 0.7cu will fit right in. But we'll see if the measuring tape agrees. As far as power goes, I have an outlet right next to my sink that is powered by my "receptacle" breaker on my panel. There is also and unused breaker spot marked "microwave" that I can just install a break too. So my question, if I go the route of adding a breaker, would I just cut the plug off the microwave and wire it in? Or better off just using the receptacle plug? Just worried it might draw too much and pop it.
Thanks!

My 2400 came with a microwave from the factory. It plugs into an outlet behind it in the upper galley cabinet.

Same here, my 1999 2400 came with one, situated same as Mike's. Don't see anything on it saying "marine" microwave" on it

I am having a hard time finding something that is going to fit that shelf at the moment. The shelf is only about 12 1/4" deep. Most microwaves these days seem to be a minimum of 13+. Donald, where does yours plug in?

Thanks!! So I don't have that little cabinet thing. Mine is just a little shelf above the sink area. I'll snap a pic of the area next time I am able to get aboard.

Excellent! Thanks! How do you have it secured to the shelf? I was thinking take screws out of the feet and then drill up through the shelf and into the the feet and holes.

It's so small and no turn table.
Don't use it to often.

Mine has a turntable and it only bounces around under ruff conditions but has not broken in 13 years.

Not sure how much it will get used, but I am in the process of installing AC. We plan on spending a lot more time down at the docks this year and ore over nights, so it will be nice to be able reheat leftovers or something....or cook a hot pocket for the kid.
