Default Leaking fuel tank

Hi all,
My 97 2300sc has a leaking fuel tank.
I did a quick search but didn’t find anything pertaining to my particular model.
The engine is out, and I was wondering if anyone has done this job before. Any tips tricks advice greatly appreciated.

What material is the deck made of; plywood or fiberglass? Either way you need to cut out a panel slightly larger than the fuel tank to have room to access the hold downs.

The deck is fiberglass with a plywood storage compartment underneath. I was hoping tank would come out into engine bay with a little creative cutting. There doesn’t seem to be any holdowns as I con move tank in its enclosure. The supports and bulkhead to the rear are all rotted

I never heard of a tank not having hold downs. Even so the tank may be to long to slide back and lift over the engine mount pads on the stringers.

Default Removing the fuel tank

Today I cut out the storage compartment floor above the fuel tank, so I could lift it up and over engine mount pads on stringers. Using a small come along I pulled tank out into engine bay. It didn’t take much effort to move. Only a couple strips of fiberglass on top front corners holdingit In place. There is a little bit of a mess where the tank support floor used to be
