Default Just bought 1997 2400SCR - Help with info

Hi everyone! My wife and I just picked up a 97 2400 SCR after a few years of owning outboard center consoles...she wanted a little more in creature comforts that this model offers. The boat is in very good condition and runs well...the previous owner did not have the owners manual.

My questions are:

1) Where can I get a copy of an owners manual
2) Is there any reliable source for parts...such as the cover for the gauges (yellowed from the sun)

My previous internet searches haven't been very successful, the maxum owners site on the web only goes back to 2000 and even then seems to have been discontinued....any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Welcome Aboard Thab94!!!

Try a couple searches as these are the most popular questions posted. Also take a look here:

I personally don't find owners manuals all that useful. What you're really looking for is the engine and drive service manuals. As for parts, I'd start with a local Bayliner or Searay dealer, they all are from the same company. They have many parts still in inventory and can substitute parts from other makes an models in many cases. Jamestown distributors carries a lot of factory leftover parts as well.

Also keep in mind, that very very few of the 'parts' are actually made by the boat manufacturer. Boats are not like cars/trucks. Guages are made by Faria, tables and posts by Todd. Cup holders, running lights and a lot of misc. parts are Perko. Cabin Lights by Swego. The stove is made by Origo. Pumps are typically Jabsco, as is the Head.

As for your faded guages, give Faria a call. They come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Best of luck
