Well if the bourbon ages long enough you can sell it as a special blend.

First layer of transom going in. They had to cut out some stringer too.

On the plus side, the fiberglass guy reports that the boat is well built, with 1/4 inch thick fiberglass on all wood, plus three layers of wood, each independently glassed in for the transom. That is nice to hear. He will be able to restore to good as new.

Glad to hear the shop jumped on this project. I figured at this time of year they would have a big back log.

Yep I think these boats were well made.

Do you plan to do anything to the engines while they are out? Oil pans look good, ...

Engine couplers ok? Good time to change them if you have any doubt.

Tanks and keep us posted.

I've done a lot of engine work lately, so im pretty happy with the engines. I am thinking about putting on remote oil filters while they are out.

The couplers seem fine, no reason to suspect.

I did change trim solenoids, which would have been a nightmare with the engines in.

And I wouldn't say jumped on it, they've had the boat since June 26th.

Fiberglass work is complete. Reassembly starts this week. Spent today fixing the ladder, replacing zincs on the drives, and washing, compounding, waxing.

Did you paint the bilge with bilge coat or something else?

Guess I was not clear, yes the photo showed gel coat on the new inner transom, what I was trying to ask is if you were going to paint the entire compartment.

Makes it look clean, neat, and professional. Also easier to keep clean compared to how Maxum had finished it off.

Hadn't really thought about it. Probably should have, but I think it's too late now. Reassembly is commencing in the morning.

If this was a do it at home project, I could delay it to do stuff like that, but, unfortunately... Its not.

Yea, this is your fault! Lol

Well, the really hard to reach transom area is done. I could do a pretty good amount of it with the engines in.

Yep you could do that just not as easy.

How about paying some little kid who can get down in there easier to do it.

We'll see. I'm tackling a ton of small issues during this repair. That one is way down my priority list.
