Default Hot Waters System via the motor

Hi,

I have heard that you can get hot water to the shower by running one of the engines. Has anyone heard if this is the case and, if so, which one on an SCR3000.

Thanks

Some hot water heaters can been connected to the engine and so the hot water tank acts like a heat exchanger and draws the heat from the heated cooling water. I never reconnected mine after i repowered. I'm not 100% on whether it is using raw water or connected to the closed side of a heat exchanger (or possibly either/or). Hopefully someone might be able to clarify further.

I had my water heated plumbed to be heated by engine. Its great. The hot water heater has coils that are filled by engine heated water before being discharged through a fitting on side of boat just above water line. Use a valve to control flow. I have mine set to a light drip out of it and I always have hot fresh water on tap. Be sure that you have a flush system in place for a salt water boat like mine. 2006 2700 SE. I did this to my previous wellcraft, used for 2 years in salt water never had tank failure or corrosion issue. Religiously flushed though!
