Default Galley Faucet Leak

The faucet in my galley has started to leak around the base. I can see it dripping behind the storage area below the sink as well. There is a small access hole in the storage are but I would have to be a midget contortionist to get my arm in far enough to unscrew the faucet bolt.

Has anyone replaced their faucet? If so, any advice on making the job easier? Will I gain better access if I remove the fridge and if yes, how is that done?

Boat is an '04 2500SE

Phillbo ............I have seen a couple thread on doing this. Yes I think you have to take out all your drawers and go from there. Don't know about the frig. If I remember right one of the thread had very good luck at lowes finding parts and a much better faucet for half the price you would find at a marine store.

I know in my 3000 I have given it some thought to doing this myself. Getting a faucet in there where as the water actually hits the middle of the sink when it comes out.

Hopefully someone else will chrime in here with a little bit better info for you....good luck

Roger

Phil
couldn't make your picture large enough to see.

I just re-did the water lines to my galley sink.

The fittings are cheap plastic.

On my 2800, I removed the drawers and had enough room to get at it.

Id' be apt to expect the plastic compression fittings over the faucet itself. Either way, you're going to need to take it apart. As said, remove the drawers and you should be able to reach around the sink. You might need a basin wrench to get the mounting nut off of the bottom of the faucet itself.

I don't have drawers but there are a few shelves in the storage area, I'll see if they come out the next time I visit the boat.
