Default Fuel sender unit for gas gauge

Hi everyone , I have a 1990 2700 scr and my fuel gauge doesn't seem to be working . I'm thinking it's the sender unit on top of the tank . My question is , are they hard to change and where would I be able to find a new one ? Thanks for any help

Try removing the sense wire and the gauge should go to empty then ground the wire and the gauge should read full. If both of these work then the sender is bad. It's easy to replace but se sure the tank is about half full to prevent gas spillage. A sender can be found on-line with just a google search, west marine, ...
