Default Fuel Guage Needle Flickering

I have a 2005 2500SE with a 5.0L EFI Mercruiser. I have been experiencing issues with my fuel gauge flickering up and down. It will settle to what I assume is the correct fuel level for a second or so but then jumps up and down again. It does this all the time regardless of the vessel being under way or just in idle.

Could it be the sending unit, bad ground or faulty gauge?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Yes it could be any of them.

This is common while underway and about half a tank.

Faulty sendor is another typical cause, does the gauge read full when the tank is full?

Try grounding the sense wire which should cause the gauge to read full bad see if it stays steady.

I'm tossing in a vote for sender.
