Unhappy Fridge question ?

We have a 1998 2800 SCR, we stayed out on the hook for the first time this weekend. Met with friends and rafted up for the night to watch the fireworks @ the Groton Sub Base. Few hours later I noticed water on the carpet from the fridge, I check no power, the lights work everything else is fine . Everything in the fridge gets moved to the cooler, once we get back to the dock I plug into the shore power and it works fine. What gives? help!!!!!!!!

I forgot to ask where is the fuse box located? could it be a fuse issue? I noticed that on the breaker panel the main breaker does not light up when switched on. The green or red lights do not come on. It does charge the boat.

Kenpo262,

The Red/Green Light is only an indicator light. If the Stove, Fridge, Charger, Hot Water and Outlets work on shore power, then the 120V circuit is not the problem. IF this occurred on the hook, then this sounds like a 12V issue. If the lights and water pump (faucets) work while shore power is turned off, then the 12v is working and you have power from the batteries.

1) Check to make sure the fridge is switched to ON inside. There should also be a green light inside the fridge indicating it is on.

2) There are fuses in the fuse panel underneath the helm. I also believe there MIGHT be a fuse behind the fridge itself.

and I hate to mention this but just make sure that the 12V wiring hasn't come undone - there is also a 12v connection on the underside of the fridge that likes to come off and make you think your fridge is broken.

If it is a Norcold, there is likely a 10 amp fuse on the back. It powers the converter circuit. If it is blown, AC operation is fine, DC won't work.

It seems like that your power supply is not working properly check it. Also check your fridge if there is any problem or not.

Hey Guys, I just joined the forum after purchasing a 2001 2700 scr Very excited to get it in the water. Everything has been going well until I tried to start the fridge. I can hear the condenser running but it is not getting cold on AC or DC.....any ideas?
