Default Connecting water heater to Engine

Hi All,
Has anyone experienced any issues connecting the water heater to a Mercruiser 5L MPI?
I have a 2700 ant the only way to heat the water currently is on shore power and would love to plumb it in to the engine so have hot water after a days boating when not on a berth, any hints and tips would be appreciated, thanks.

This should not be an issue just be sure that the return hose is connected to the suction side of the circulation pump, it has plugs on both sides.

I had the same problem installing the engine water hoses to the water heater on my 2007 2400se, I couldn’t find the correct information. I’ve done this and it’s works good.
One connection is to the side of the engine water pump and the other is to the top front of the intake manifold, both are on the starboard side. I also installed “T” fittings to the low point in both hoses for winter storage draining.
See the attached picture.

That’s correct, you can see the return hose coming from the heater core going to the suction side of the circulation pump.
