Default Carburate tuning

I recently had a new carby kit put on the Edelbrock.
But not it is running rich. The mechanic claims it is set as per instructions.
I want to have a play around with the mixture.
I watched some YouTube videos, bought a vacuum gauge/kit, went to tune it and the carby doesn't look like the one on YouTube.

I have found the numbers stamped onto it.
There appears to be attachment that a hose should fit on.
barrels.

Any help would be appreciated.

What engine do you have?
please give all the info on the boat the you can as it helps us help you.
The carb you have is an Endelbrock 1409 with is a marine carb.
I do not think that there is a port that you can attach a vacuum gauge.
The two screws on the front at base of carb are the idle mixture screws, with the engine off turn them in all the way till they bottom out lightly (DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM AS YOU WILL DAMAGE THEM, ONLY LIGHTLY) . Then turn them out 1 1/2turns, you should be able to start engine and let it warm up before you do any more adjwsusting of these screws. turn each one a little untill engine runs smooth and check for correct idle speed and readjust as needed.

As Don said this is a 1409 marine carburetor. Not sure what video you viewed but I would contact Edelbrock for the instructions to adjust the carburetor, they have very good customer service.

Thanks for good advice as usual.
The motor is a GM 5.7 ltr V8
I will look up Edelbrock Australia and see what I can come up with.

Regards Tony
