There is a panel in the cabinet (going down the stairs) that I removed on my 2400scr and there is a ton of storage behind that panel on the Port side. I was going to do just what your talking about but I traded the boat for a larger one before I had a chance to cut out the panel. Go ahead and do it, you'll have a ton of new storage area.
