Default Cabin Door lock for 2400SCR

I'm in the process of fixing my cabin door and wondering if I should look into a lock of some sort for it. It is not the factory door and seems to be a piece of acrylic or something. Currently, I just have a latch in place that holds the door closed. The boat is at a slip during the summer, so wonder if it makes sense to put a lock on it to keep some ahole from going through my cabin. Obviously, it's only a plastic door, so if they want in, they are getting in, but maybe make it a little noisier and a tiny bit more effort. Anyone by chance have a pic of their setup they can shoot over? I know marine shop has a bunch of locks, but if there's a specific type that will fit, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!!

My 1997 has the factory door which a piece of plexiglass with a keyed slide latch at the top center. I’ll see if I can find a picture.

Interesting. So it locks into the top slide piece. Thanks for the pic!

Sweet. Now I at least know what I am looking for. I assumed it was like a typical doorknob so this helps a ton! Thanks!

Here’s the OEM lock.
https://southco.com/en_us_int/mg-01-110-50

The original is plastic which has pros and cons. I would call it an indicator rather than protection. They break apart easily so it won’t stop anyone determined (my wife broke ours with a sharp tug not realizing the door was locked)

Pro … you won’t have a safety concern with a kid or someone locked inside.

Con … it does nothing to prevent someone from coming into your boat … but it will tell you someone was there when you find it in pieces haha.

They also have a metal one that’s a slightly different dimension and is worth considering if you are installing from scratch.

Thanks!! Yep, that was the one I was looking at only in white. I will check into the metal one as well, but honestly even with that, if someone wants in, they are getting in. I'm really looking for more of a deterrent to be honest and so I know someone was sleeping in my bed and eating my porridge!!!
