it depends on which engine/max rpm you have

have the same boat with a 4,3 v6 vortec
my max rpm should be between 4300-4800
have meddled with various props only to find out that a 4 blade drops the rpm with about 500 rpm
that's about 35 hp
found out that the original 3 blade was the best one (4800 wot rpm)
take of and getting in plane is best.
i yust have to live with a fact that a 4,3 is a nice and economic engine but not quit up to the job
but
an average adult is about 70-80 kgs
some people are heavier and filled up tank's (water and gas) can play a negative role too

Hey there, i have a 2400scr with the 5.7LX alpha1. I have played with some props as well. What works best for me is a 19pitch high five. It will give me 4600rpm max @ 38-42mph depending on the load, and it gives me a cruise of 30mph (gps) @ 3650rpm. I have no problem getting on plane with two adults & two kids, full fuel, water, camping gear, grocery's, beer..etc..etc..i fact we just had 7 people on board for the weekend and had no issues......but i wonder how much a b3 would make a difference?...i bet a 17 or 18 pitch highfive would be a great choice as well.....
cheers

first off..welcome to the zoo...2nd what engine, where do you boat.....how much gear is on the boat, fuel, water??..how clean is the bottom...all these factors can affect the boat performance...
