I'm looking to remove this piece and replace the material. Does anyone know how its attached. I don't want to do any more damage when I remove it.

No clue, but the panel on the left in your pic (starboard top panel) is just held on with Velcro. It is the access to the starboard fuel tank. Maybe you can pull that, and see behind the other panel.
