Default 2800 SCR Gas Tank Size

Does anyone know the amount of gas the 2800 SCR tank holds?

what year. I always thought my '97 2800 was a weird number like 101 or 102 Gal. I've always used 100 in my head. If this is related to the thread on leaving the tank full or empty, then you don't want to fill the tank 100%. In cooler weather like now, gasoline will be contracted. In the spring when the weather gets warmer, the gas will expand. If you left the tank 100% full in the fall, it will be 102% full in the spring and you'll be leaking gas out the vent tube. Leave the boat at 90% full and allow for expansion in the spring. Despite the concern of condensation. The less empty the smaller the airpocket and the less of the fuel tank walls and ceiling exposed to air, therefore less condensation. This is why you add the stabilizer, Startron, etc. when you lay the boat up in the fall.

I had said about 90% full in my reply. But I see that is the dilemma. 90% full is based on the actual capacity of the tank. Which the OP isn't sure of, so my post was less than helpful in those regards. The oldest archived model on the Maxum sight shows a 102 Gal. tank on the 2001 2900 (that doesn't really mean anything). shoot for between 90-100 Gal and you should be safe. If it's a 100, and you only count on 90, you have a 'reserve'.

Way over thinking this Debbie.

Fill the boat, dump in 3 or 4 bottles of treatment, then go cruise the boat around for an hour to mix the treatment, get it into the entire fuel system, and burn off between 5 and 10 gallons of gas.

That'll do the trick.

Well, my tank is 3/4 full, and assuming it holds 101 gallons, I put 16oz. of Sta Bil in her and ran her around. So I am good with the gas! Thank you everyone!
