Default 2700 SCR Water Heater

Hello,

Quick question Re the water heater on my 1998 2700 SCR

I notice the hot water circuit does not have an expansion vessel installed, is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

In marine pressurized systems, the accumulator tank typically goes right after the pressure pump. I've never seen one on the water heater, like you would see in a residential application.

If it’s a horizontal tank, there will be a small amount of air remaining in the top of the tank after it’s filled, which provides the expansion. In most of the manuals, they will recommend shutting draining the tank periodically to ensure the air is replenished as it can dissolve into the water over long periods of time.
