Default 2400 SCR Customizations

Going out today to complete purchase of a 1994 2400 SCR!

I have a couple questions about addons/customizations.

1. Icebox-> fridge.
2. Swim deck
3. Port side deck storage. Our old 2300 scr had a couple cupboards up top just to the side of the seats. For some reason the 2400 just has a smooth wall here. Any chance on cutting open a section of that wall and putting in some shelves?

Happy to be boating again!

carsonoid welcom aboard.

1. In cabin or on deck? I have a frig in the cabin although I seldom use it (cooler).
2. Swimplatform.com about $2K great upgrade. OK I have not done it but really would like too.
3. This is my biggest issue with this model. Even the aft seat storage is rather small. Try removing the inspection cover in the mid berth and look to see what the starboard side to get an idea ifthe port side will allow this.

Thanks for the quick response.

I was hoping to swap out the icebox in the cabin for a fridge. Just took the plunge and bought the boat tonight!

Swimplatform is the best addition you could have on this boat, just installed one and I love it.

I'll hopefully get some pictures this week. The platform is looking like a must to me at this point. We need to mount a remote-troll and there just isn't much space on the factory platform. Not to mention that they put the factory swim ladder on the opposite side of the deck door. (still can't figure out why all makes seem to do this.)

"still can't figure out why all makes seem to do this"

I think for traffic flow so that when folks exit the water they have to move towards the transom door to enter the boat and won't be blocking others from using the ladder. But this is just my thought.
Then again how can anyone stay on such a narrow platform anyway.

There are a few minor things that need replaced.

Deck table pole, Bimini screws, Forward hatch handle. Do you guys have an resources for these kinds of things? Can I still get OEM parts or am I stuck buying replacements elsewhere?

Try greatlakesskipper but new old stock is running out. Most items on a boat are made by indepentant manufactures and not the boat builder.

Deck table pole is more than likely made by Todd Industries. Bimini parts are somewhat generic, Suncor makes a lot of that stuff. I'm not sure about the hatch handle. take a look at West Marine or Defender.com. They both have all that stuff.

Thanks! I was able to find the table pole and set screws easily at defender.com. Still looking into options for the deck hatch.

I replaced the ice box in my 2300SCR with this unit - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I love it - same dimension as ice box, lightweight, silent, efficient.
Cheers
