Default 2400 SCR Bow Thruster

Hi All I just wanted to say hello and after 3 years of ownership I have just fitted a bowthruster to Figaro. All I can say is wow what a difference when the canopy is up and its blowing, like it seems to always do here in the UK these days! I did a number of searches but couldn't find much detail about anyone having fitted one. For those who are thinking about it I bought a MaxPower CT45, 125mm tunnel, joystick and cables all from ebay for approx. £500 about $800 and the hole was done professionally for £600 about $900! Its was so easy to wire up as its completely plug and play! If anyone has any questions always happy to help. Enjoy the season!

Welcome aboard

What size motor does your unit have?
Did you install a seperate battery for it, if so where did you mount it?

Got any pictures of the interior install of the unit?

Hi I will take some pictures of the interior for you but it fits upright in the front locker, so you could still use it for storage but I haven't bothered. No I have run battery cables from my largest main battery which are right at the back on the water heater side the cables were £200 for .70mm cables but I figured if I bought another battery plus had to charge it somehow it would be easier, I then ran the control cable and an 8 amp power from the helm up to the unit. The motor is 4.3 hp! you can find it here CT45 Electric Tunnel Thruster

Ignore the red and green buttons on the joystick as they are for a retractable thruster. Here you can see the cables, the main fuse the battery isolator (Bit Blurred) and the motor and tunnel in the forward locker, finally for got to mention a top tip, there is also an automatic fire extinguisher in the same locker just in case!

Strangely not and there was no option either, I have a Tupperware container that I am going to cover it with for now with a couple of rubber grommets for the cables should make it a nicely sealed unit.

That will work for now but eventually I would fabricate one out of plexiglass.

Very odd they would leave that unprotected.
