Default 2400 SCR Bow Pulpit

I have a 2001 2400 SCR with a really short bow pulpit, I bought it second hand and have never seen another one like it. Anyone know if this is how it came from the factory?

yeah...due to the fact that your boat is a 23ftr..the bow pulpit was manufactured that way.....sorry to say and certainly don't agree with it..but that's pretty much stock....

That is part of the hull and deck mold. Right from the factory. I don't see a problem with it, per se. Afer all, there is no functional issue with it, is there?

I am trying to sell it at the moment and have a deal done with a guy but he came back to me asking if the nose was modified as he has not seen another boat with a short bow pulpit like mine, I was looking for assurance that it was a genuine factory option back in 2001 and not something that someone decided to take upon themsleves????

I don't know authoritatively - however, that looks like it's molded into the hull (original). Unless someone went through the trouble (for no obvious reason) to put a new pulpit on, blending it into the hull and the top-deck, and re-doing the entire railing to match it... highly, highly unlikely...

Thanks BKgoodman, it looks like its factory to me and the finish is perfect. I just want to put this chaps mind at rest, he thinks it may have been damaged but its very obvious that the gelcoat is original!!

well it'sthe same as the bayliner2655 from the 90 years. the positive thing of it is, ...if you have the right anchor it fits like a glove under the putpit and wo'nt damage your hull...the second is that your mate can stand on it with the rope in it's hand and will have a shorter reach to the shore and can easy put the rope around the holder (don't know the right name of it). the mate can lean over much further than on a boat without it...but this is just my idea.....

i also had it on my 2855 bayliner from 1997 and for my lady it was a helpfull thing sometimes......

greatz, ed
