Default 2300SCR prop & performance

Does anyone out there have a 2300SCR?

I have one with a V6 / 262 /4.3LX / 205HP and am looking for a prop recommendation.

Also looking to see how the boat gets up on plane - I need to be going near 4000 RPMs to get it up, but am told I should be able to do this around 2k.

Anyone have any insight?

There are so many ways the first half of that sentence could go wrong, but for the second half I think you were misinformed. I seriously doubt that 2300 will get, and stay, on plane at 2K. My 2400 with 300 HP and B3 drive won't do it.

Question is, once you get on plane what is the minimum RPM you need to run to keep it on plane?

i have the same boat and a 4,3 v6 vortec with 240 bhp (new engine)
have tried a lot of props (19p, 4 and 5 blade) but found out that the original prop (3 blade 17p) is the best option for this boat.
it comes into plane at about 3000 rpm and will hold it at 2800 (with trim flaps)
engine runs 4700 rpm on WOT

This ALL makes sense. I didn't think that there was any way possible it would do much better than it is! It seems a bit underpowered...to say the least.
