Default 2004 3500 SY Survey/Sea Trial

Greetings,

I have an upcoming survey and sea trial on a 2004 Maxum 3500 SY. I am wondering if other owners can make recommendations of specific things to look for or possible “known” issues.

Thanks

I assume you hired a surveyor?? They will take care of that for you. There is nothing specific that wouldn't be a possible issue with any other boat make, model. The manufacturer only makes the hull and the deck and marries them together, then installs 3rd party parts for everything. Either the hull and deck are solid, or they are not. Either a part is working or it is not. Anything not-working can be replaced.

Your surveyor will tell you if he detects water in the coring, stringers or bulkheads and to what extent.

Shrew - I did hire a certified surveyor. However, every boat I’ve owned has had some “idiosyncrasies” that generally owners are aware.
