I just put a refundable deposit down on a 2001 2700SCR. The boat is 6 hours away so will be seeing it next weekend. The boat is a brokerage sale at a boat dealer. It is a one owner, clean and very well maintained boat. 297 engine hours. Powered by a Mercruiser 7.4 MPI with a Bravo 3 Outdrive for 310 HPHis. His service department checked it out and stated everything is working but needs a tune up. The salesman sent the Nada value report and has it for sale at the average retail of $27,995. He also made it sound like the price was firm.
Boat does not have a trailer but we don't need one since we have a slip. Just need to get it shipped about 240 miles from the current location. Salesman said they could do it for $500.
Questions:
1. On the Nada report (images attached), it seems like he listed a lot of options that should be included in the base price. What's your opinion?
2. This would be our first cruiser purchase. Need advice on what we should inspect/look at when we see the boat.
3. Insurance - any company recommendations if we buy it?
Go to yachtworld or another on line boat listing to see what others are selling for. This price seems a little high IMO. A boat is only worth what one is willing to pay.
For this large of an investment get it surveyed.
Insurance company doesn’t matter as much but get an agreed upon value one.
