Default 2000 Maxum SCR2400 trim tab question

Hello all, the question I have is...

can your trim tabs effect you ability to plane? I'm not talking about your trim on your throttle but the two separate trim tabs you have on your dash to control the boat being level.

i feel like I'm having a hard time to get my boat to plane lately and I'm wondering if I 've adjusted the trim tabs to a location that now makes it tough to plane?

is that even a possibility? poorly angled trim tabs making it difficult to plane with 4 people on board?

5.7 liter fuel injected Mercruiser.

Extending the trim tabs down decreases time to plane. Once on plane you can retract them to reduce drag and use just enough tab to keep the boat level.

Are you in the ocean? I'm having the same issue lately with my 2001 2400 with the 5.0. I was having a hard time getting on plane with just my wife and 13 year old on board. I found a TON of marine life on the outdrive as well as hull. Haven't gotten the chance to dive and clean it off yet, but I had the same issue on my last boat so recognized it immediately.
