Default 2000 Maxum SCR2400 POWER ISSUES

When starting out with more than 2 people in the boat i have a hard time getting the boat to plane. if i get everyone to the middle area it seems to be better but not always.

however sometimes when i have 4 people in the boat and don't make people go to middle of boat it will all of the sudden seem to regain power out of the blue, it seems odd.

anyone every experience intermittent power like this?

When you feel an increase of power what does the tach do? Jump in rpms? How does it behave with just you? What is the WOT? What engine and drive?

when i feel the increase in power the tach stays the same, its really weird. 5.7 liter w/alpha 1 drive. WOT is like 28 knots

What is the MAX RPM, not speed.
RPM should be max 4600, if not you are over propped.
I have a 2400 SCR 1995 with 5.7 alpha 1 gen2 and I am running a 14.5 x 17P prop.
Mine is a carb motor, yours is MPI if i am not mistaken.

As Don said WOT is the maximum rpm. How long have you owned this boat. When did this issue start?

Frankly a quick regaining of power sounds more electrical than fuel. Loose wire including plug wire. Ignition sensor going bad in the distributor,...
