Cool 2000 2700 SCR Fuel economy

Does anyone know where one might find a fuel economy chart for a 2000, 2700 SCR with a 7.4 MPI (454)? I went to boat test.com and found one for the bayliner 285, but that is for the 2009 w/ the 300 HP 350 MAG MPI. Wonder if the RPM and MPH are close to the 454,,,

Thnx, Nils

Just an update,,,, It seems that at around 3700-3900 rpm, 24-28 MPH (depends on load and water conditions) I am burning approx 14.5-16 GPH Just thought I would follow up :-)

Funny, I was following a thread on another board, a fellow was asking what the fuel burn rate would be on some twin engine go fast boat. He go a number of replies/guesses but one was particuarly brief, to the point, and - to me, really funny. He simply replied, and I quote:

Cool. Thanks for the update. That's a bit better than I thought it would be.

Are those figures pretty close to the test you found on the Bayliner 285 with the 350 MAG MPI?

fuel economy and boat should never be used in the same sentence.....when you deal with gallons per hr...you can rest assured your going to go thru some serious amounts of gas in a heartbeat...

you know your using alot of fuel when you see little birds being sucked out of the sky!!

Comes back to true definition of boat: a hole in the water, into one pours money LOL

Nimh,,,

Comparison is somewhat close I guess, hull design may have changed some from the 2000 model to the 2009 model, weight placements, sea conditions etc, but I guess its like buying a car and expecting it to get the same mileage as what the window sticker tells you! What I did do however is I installed an inline fuel monitor system to help with optimum trim, tilt and RPM etc.

That being said, refer to quotes above :-) The day I dictate whether I will start the engine according to the price of fuel on the pump is the day I better start looking at "blow boats" :-)
