Default wont start

started boat up after winter storage and all good. Turned key to accessory and alarm ring goes on and then turn key to start and worked fine. Did this a few times during the day after checking all items out. Then later in day when I re-started there was no no alarm from accessory and no start when key is turned fully. All trim tabs work, engine tilt up and down still works, power to everything but no sound of anything after turning the key.

Any idea. Thanks

Mark

Start with the simple stuff.

Is the kill lanyard firmly attached?
Shifter in neutral?

The rest will depend on what engine you have.. Please post details.

Drive trim and trim tabs are powered directly from the battery. After checking the run/stop (kill) switch and verifying being in neutral check for power at the "B" terminal of the ignition switch.

Did not reply sooner because changed the ignition switch and it started. Now the same thing is happening. Radio works, trim taps work, engine tilt works but nothing when key is turned. Engine is 5.0 EFI Mercrusier.
Thanks

If you have power at the B terminal as mike previously mentioned, next is the slave solenoid Check to see if you have power on the small yel/red terminal on the slave solenoid when the key is turned to Start position.

If so, check to see if you have power out of the solenoid on the large yellow/red terminal. (again with key turned to start position)

Solenoid is mounted on the top of the engine next to the red circuit breaker button.

If no power on the “B” terminal of the ignition switch check the 10 pin connector on the engine harness to verify it’s fully connected.
