torque pitch props

Anyone out there have any info on where to buy a variable pitch prop. I know Aerostar sells them (too expensive) and I know that Land and Sea used to make one that now you have to search used market for. Any other advice for finding one? I have always thought that all props should work that way or at least all outdrives, since a one speed motor is a no brainer for lameness.

Welcome to the website gbf...........off hand I know they were the rage 10 or 15 years ago............ Have you tried to google this? I just did and didn't find much except the fact they are big bucks and it sounds like big bucks is not what you are looking for. I found a couple of good sites explaining all the theories, but nothing in the $300.00 range.

Sort of like the flying car..........nice idea but...........

You might have luck if you include "Controllable Pitch Propellers" or "Controllable Pitch Propellers for Powerboats" in your search along with 'Variable Pitch', as that appears to be a common alternative name for them. The Quicksilver Power 2 looks like it would fit your bill. They seem to be making a slow comback with the wakeboard community. I did a couple quick searches. There are some good write ups out there and I'm sure you could find other vendors.
