Default Testing the Ignition/coil pack for spark

Hi All.

Is there a way to test the iginition pack for spark on the E/PCM 555.

I think my ECU is toast as I have no fuel Pump without providing a seperate earth so the Ecu isn't providing that and on inspection there is no fuel getting to the plugs.

If any one has a test procedure for the ecu or module i would be eternally grateful.

There’s a troubleshooting guide in Mercruiser manual #24 under Documents.

Hi all.

There was nothing I could do to get the Motorola ecu to wake up even when trying to create earths for the various systems that it should provide. However, in making sure that all systems were ready, I have now succesfully primed the oil system and seen it register on the dash guage by way of a power drill on a home made oil pump drive shaft so thats a positive.
I have managed to find very local to me a 5.0 mpi ecu so having been really down at the start of the week there feels like some light at the end of the tunnel.

Onwards...
