Default Searching for cockpit cover

Hi!

I'm looking for a cockpit cover to my Maxum 2000 SCL 1998, do anyone know where I can order one? I've searched online and sent a few e-mails to different sites but no luck yet.

With leta's you will save money because you will be putting in all the snaps. If you don't want to do that give your local canvas shop a call and get something custom made. Sometimes a little pricey but usually well worth every penny.

Your choice

Sorry, do you mean that the snap buttons comes separated from the cover and that I will have to attach them to the cover? I've mailed a local shop here in Sweden where I live and got an estimate, $1916 including shipping for a cockpit cover for the boat.

Yes if you buy from leta you will either have to install the snaps or pay a local shop to do so. If you have a local shop make the cover they will do the entire job.

For your size boat I would expect it to cost between $1000 - $1200 US

PS welcome aboard

I've talked again to the shop in Sweden and if I order from them I'll also have to put in the snaps myself or contact a local shop in my city to do it, they probably order the cover from the US and adds extra charge. I've sent a request to letastopshop through their web page but no response from them yet..

If the shops know my boat model and hull number why can't they send a complete cover with snaps already fitted?

Is there any more companies I could try to e-mail?

Thanks for the welcome mmwjr!

The issue with the snaps is they are installed by hand on the boat and can vary some in their location therefore in order to get the top to match one must have the boat in front of them so they can ensure the snaps align.

I understand. I Just got a reply from Leta's $700 + $350 in shipping to Sweden. Much cheaper than the $1919 from the web page here in Sweden!

Now that's a reasonable price. Did you get a quote from a local shop to install the snaps?

Does that cover fit all the way over the windshield or start at the top?

I've contacted two local shops but none of them takes on that kind of job, and Leta's now say that they don't have the cockpit cover for the 1998 model..

I still got the offer from a shop (600+ miles from my city) here in Sweden, but $1919 now sounds expensive to me. Isn't there any other US based shops beside Leta's that have Maxum covers?

Maxum site says that this company also has original patterns for Maxum boats:

Canvas Plus
360-435-0932
Canplus@aol.com

However, that phone number comes up as belonging to Leta's, when I searched.

Well that sucks, both the distance and the cost. In my location I can find several canvas shops within 50 miles.

Not sure what else to suggest. Overton's will probably have a generic cover.
