Default Ignored Alarm then Prop Stopped

Good Morning Everyone!
I am a new owner and new to this forum.
I have a 2005 2100 SC, 350HP Alpha One and took it out to watch the fireworks this year.
While launching, I noticed an alarm and didn't know what it meant. On the way home I noticed difficulty engaging the drive, reverse seemed to work but forward seemed to weakly engaged. I took it easy on the way back, but 20 min later I dropped from 15 to 7 knots, then stopped. After 2am was finally towed in :-(

What I would consider the transmission, seems to be slipping then finally disengaged as if I was in neutral. In reading the forums over the last few day, Im wondering if the alarm was the Oil for the OD (Out drive?).

I'm about to take the boat to a mechanic, but any insight would help me.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from the community.

Did the engine die or did you just loose motion? fault codes can be read out by the mechanic. I think it’s an engine issue as it lost rpm which sounds like it went into limp mode. Now if the engine continued to run then it’s definitely a drive issue. The Alpha is rated to 300 HP so I’m surprised to hear you have such a package.

Its a carburetor engine and it never died, just acted like its in neutral no mater what the throttle setting.

Carburetor? Your signature has MPI which is fuel injection. Also in post #1 you say 350 HP but signature says 300

It was the OD oil alarm, and subsequently running the prop without oil damaged the entire drive.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get a replacement soon. BTY some have used an aftermarket company called SEI with 50/50 happiness. Their reliability is so so.
