Default 2000 SR3 Owners Thread

I recently purchased a 2007 2000 SR3 and after multiple google searches I haven't found much information about the boat.

Feel free to post up information about your boat so other owners can see what others have done to your boat.

Information about electronics installed and any other modifications like stereo upgrades, prop size with WOT rpm and top speed would be nice.

Default 2000 SR3 Owners Thread

I've got a 2007 Maxum 2000 SR3. It has the 5.0 MPI with Alpha 260hp. It has the factory JBL Model MR-6 CD player with 4 JBL speakers powered by the factory JBL MA 6004 amp which is located under the steering wheel console. It also has a Quicksilver 1920p23 prop size J-14-v-23P. It has the factory wakeboard tower and bimini top.

I've got a chip in the prop so I haven't been able to test WOT yet. The ratio of my drive is 1.47. I'm getting cavitation around 4400 rpm at 48.8mph. I'd like to get a new prop but without being able to test my WOT it's hard to choose the right one. What size props is everyone else running?

I swapped over to a 4 blade Black Diamond aluminum prop with 20 pitch and went out for a WOT run with a full tank of gas and 2 people on board. WOT RPM was 4400 with a recorded GPS speed of 52mph. I picked up a stainless 3 blade prop with 20 pitch from Michigan Wheel from a friend for $50 and will be testing it later this week to see the difference.

I went out and tested the 3 blade stainless prop today with 20in pitch and recorded a top speed of 56.9mph. It wasn't glass smooth out but if it was I might have been able to get another 2mph. Load was 2 adults and a full tank of gas and about 80lbs of misc stuff on board.

Do you know what the recommended WOT RPM's is for that engine? 4400 sounds close but may be a little low.

4800rpm is the recommended WOT. With the 3 blade 20 pitch I got it up to 4600.

My 2000 SR has 5.0 MPI with Alpha leg. WOT is specified as 48mph at 4800rpm. I recorded 49mph on GPS and 4600-4800rpm on original dial tachometer. Water was glass smooth, I had with 2 adults and 90 litres fuel. Was very excited to achieve spec and then nudge it. Actually got there quickly and smoothly. Have original 19" Al 3 blade prop.
I was planing to get a 4 blade stainless prop but - now not sure what benefit to expect.

The Max RPM @ WOT is a range (between 4400 - 4800). Ideally you want to be as close to the upper end as possible. The key is to run the boat as it would be typically loaded (people, gear, coolers, etc).
