Default 1997 Swim deck replacement

This weekend while enjoying a great day on the water a PWC ran into the back of our boat while tied up at the dock . I was so concerned with the out drive (which my son had put in the up position in anticipation of hauling out, that I never even checked the swim deck. On Sunday, back out on the water, I went to get in the boat and when I started to put my weight on the step, it snapped off. I tried to dive after it when I realized what had happened but it was sinking too fast. Now I have a busted knee and a swim deck with no ladder.

We have a 1997 1950NA with a squarish rear end and the white US marine swim deck. I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere on line, even a used one on ebay (looks like there have been a lot listed in the past). If someone has a line on one please let me know. I am not thrilled about filling the existing holes and adding new reinforcement, and new holes so that i can fit an after market one. But it will probably have to happen, over the off season.

Question 2 (yes there was actually a request for help in the paragraph above), is it possible to mount one of those flip over 2 step units on the white plastic deck in the mean time. I don't want to go out without a way back in the boat, and I am not letting anyone use the outdrive as a step.

Has anyone done this? do you have a picture? how did it work?

Thanks for all the help.

You could use one of these until you get it fixed.
